Anthracite Grey Double Glazing

Did you ever wonder why so many new homes are being built with anthracite grey coloured windows and doors.
It doesn't stop there either, there is real demand for replacement glazing in anthracite too. So much in fact that almost all of our suppliers have anthracite as one of their stock colours, and it's no longer a special order colour.

So why is Anthracite the colour of choice by so many people?

It would seem that there are some really valid reasons for choosing it, beyond what you may initially believe to be just a fashion trend.
  • It's an extremely versatile dark grey colour. It really suits a whole manner of building materials (brick, render, stone etc.);
  • It appears to almost disappear, its inconspicuous colour means that it is not the main thing your eye is drawn too and it doesn't detract from the other features of your home. This is especially pertinent when you compare it in contrast to the white we are so used to seeing everywhere;
  • It's also a truly low maintenance colour. It's dark nature means that it will easily still look it's best in-between cleans.
It's easy to see why anthracite (a.k.a Ral 7016) is an architect's best friend.

Anthracite Grey your way

You may be thinking that having anthracite will make your rooms look dark, but that's the great part. With modern technology, we can achieve a completely separate colour internationally. So you can retain your white internal aspect, or even timber (by choosing Alu-clad) meaning you retain light airy rooms; getting the best of both worlds. A harmonised external colour to suit your exterior, with an internal colour to suit your interior design.

Anthracite grey is not just for Aluminium any more. It is so popular, that it also comes as a standard foil colour for PVCu. If you are thinking about a change in colour, call Fenestra today on 01823 254100 to book a consultation. Competent Installation Teams

Make sure you employ competent, qualified tradesmen. Unfortunately the double glazing industry has received some bad press, with "cowboy" builders and installers causing damage to property and using some very unsafe practices. But the industry is working hard to make these stories ones of the past. To avoid these pitfalls, ensure you employ installers who are part of an easily recognised national registration body. We at Fenestra Glazing ensure our installers regularly update their training and qualifications. We don't rely on our installers' qualifications from era's gone by. We make sure our installation teams are fully competent, with an emphasis on continued professional development and qualifications updated at least every five years. We ensure our industry knowledge is up-to-date, and attend regional and national events ensuring our technical knowledge. We are FENSA registered, and go far above and beyond the minimum standards needed for registration. T
